MC Website — Redesign
MC, one of the oldest and most respected law firms in New Zealand, recently went through a full rebranding and needed a new website to align with their updated visual identity. The goal was to create a modern, professional online presence that reflected their legacy, values, and new brand direction.
The Brief
Meredith Connell (MC) — New Zealand's leading public-interest litigation firm — needed a website that matched their bold new brand identity. The goal was clear: stand out in a conservative industry and establish MC as the firm that leads it.
My Role
UX and UI design, working as a contractor embedded within the Catch Design team alongside their designers and developers.
Approach
We started with flows and wireframes to map out the content and nail the structure before touching visuals. From there, we collaborated closely with the branding agency Saturday and the client to develop a visual direction — iterating through multiple rounds to find the right balance between MC's striking new identity and a site that still had to function as a serious professional resource.
Deliverables
- UX flows and wireframes
- Figma designs
- UI design system
Outcome
A site that breaks the legal industry mould without breaking trust. Bold, colourful, and confident — with a people section that humanises the firm and a recruitment section that speaks directly to the top talent MC wants to attract.
